KV 40 is a tomb located in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. It was discovered by Howard Carter in 1901. The tomb consists of a single chamber which was likely intended for the burial of a minor member of the royal family during the 18th dynasty of ancient Egypt. The tomb contains no decorations or inscriptions, making it difficult to determine the identity of the person who was buried there. Some scholars speculate that the tomb may have been intended for Prince Thutmose, the son of Amenhotep III and the elder brother of Akhenaten, but this theory remains unproven. The tomb has not been extensively excavated and is not open to the public.
